That Kind Of Fool
MacKillop/Robertson

Use that tactic if you want to
try to bring me down
but it's never so effective
second time around.
Try to keep it in perspective
you ain't got that claim on me
just don't know what you're expecting
look at me, tell me what you see.

Take that turning if you have to
know I'd understand
but don't think I'll come running
that's a wasted plan.
I'm sick and tired of compromising
trying to see a way
things you said today surprised me
don't leave too much that I want to say.

You're the one with the real confusion
don't try to put the blame on me
I get to think maybe it's time I was moving
I won't let you make that kind of fool out of me.

Things were different when we started
nothing was assumed
now it's just a game of habits
only I don't like the rules.
Love's not what you're trying to make it
protection from yourself
and that's the way you're trying to take it
you don't know, but I can tell.

So use that tactic if you want to
try to bring me down
but it's never so effective
second time around.
Misunderstand me if you have to
it's maybe what you should do
I know I'm not blameless
I realise that it takes two.
