One Autumn Day
Reilly/MacKillop
One autumn day, he looked my way
And promised me he'd never
Leave me sad and blue
He said he always knew
We would be together
So hand in hand, we wed as planned
Our time was short, however
As the world was turned around
The innocence we'd found
Was lost in stormy weather
That autumn day, when he marched away
I heard him say, forever
He writes me every day
Says everything's OK
Soon things will be much better
But late at night, as the candles' light
Flickers in the darkness
I see him over there
The moonlight in his hair
As stars explode around him
